Angela de la Garza is a highly skilled legal professional who has devoted her entire legal career to helping people resolve their legal matters and disputes. Ms. de la Garza is the Director of Personal Injury at Elkus & Sisson, P.C. With 5 years of personal injury experience under her belt, she has a track record of great success in pre-litigation case management. She also has experience and practice in Litigation, Insurance Settlements, Homeowners Association claims, Court Mediation, Immigration matters, Domestic Relations matters, Wage Theft, and Wrongful Death matters.

Prior to her position at Elkus & Sisson, P.C. she worked for a well-established and highly reputable personal injury firm in Denver. At said firm she was trained by seasoned experts, and she obtained all the skills necessary to become a leader in the personal injury field. Throughout her career she has obtained millions of dollars in personal injury settlements. Her clients have reflected their appreciation of her with many kind accolades noting her tenacity and commitment to excellence on their behalf.

Her wide range of experience brings an amalgam of knowledge and expertise to her work at Elkus & Sisson, P.C. Ms. de la Garza has pre-law education and career background in business management, banking, communications, broadcasting, and court mediation; therefore, she embodies skills in negotiation, business management, interpersonal communication, leadership, and finance. Prior to her legal career, she worked in management and received the Future Nordstrom Leaders Management certificate from Nordstrom Cherry Creek while a Designer Specialist and she was a Foreign Currency Teller for Wells Fargo Bank. Additionally, she had a radio show at the Metropolitan State University of Denver.

As a law student, she devoted countless hours as a volunteer. She served as a volunteer legal assistant for the Consular de Mexico in Denver Colorado, she mediated for the Better Business Bureau, she mediated for Jefferson County Court protection orders and domestic relations cases for three years, she mediated for Adams County Court Small Claims Court, she contributed as a Research Specialist and Writer for the Colorado Judicial Review 2018, she served as a Competition Judge for the American Bar Association Mediation Competition in 2018, and volunteered at Project Safeguard where she assisted Spanish speaking victims of domestic violence file their domestic relations matters in District Court, inter alia.

As a Denver, Colorado native, Ms. de la Garza chose to remain in, and pursue her higher education in Denver. She earned her Bachelor of Communication Arts Broadcasting, with a Business Management minor, degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver. She then received her Master of Legal Studies Graduate degree at The University of Denver Sturm College of Law. From Sturm College of Law, she received several prestigious certificates and awards. In 2018, she was awarded the Scholastic Excellence Award for her performance in Criminal Procedure. Because her Graduate degree was focused on International Business and Immigration Law, she earned a certificate in International Legal Research from The Westminster Law Library. She also earned a Mediation Certificate from Sturm College of Law. While completing an internship with a reputable Immigration firm in Denver, she earned a certificate in Fundamentals of U.S. Immigration Law.

Ms. de la Garza is also an accomplished athlete. In 2009 she was named Rookie of the Year by the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association. As a member of the Rocky Mountain Rollergirls 5280 Fight Club, her team earned the number one ranking in the country in 2010 and 2011. Though her roller derby career ended in 2012, she continues to roller skate for exercise. She, her three children, and her fiancé skate together several times a week. She has been an avid runner since the age of five, and she is also a weightlifter.

Ms. de la Garza keeps her mind sharp by playing chess regularly. She plays online as well as with her friends and family. Additionally, she is a bookworm. Her preferred genres are: business, finance, law, language, and self-improvement inter alia.
