Surgeon in surgery

On February 21, 2018 the Colorado Public Health Department was notified of an “infection control breach” at Porter Adventist for people who had orthopedic or spine surgery over an 18-month period between July 21, 2016 and February 20, 2018. Porter Adventist Hospital advised patients could be at risk for Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C or HIV due to a sterilization breach where the process for cleaning surgical instruments following orthopedic and spine surgeries was found to be inadequate.
